In this presentation Dr. Theodore Jacobs will discuss and read from his coming of age novel, The Year of Durocher, as well as discuss the work of a number of writers to illustrate a currently neglected aspect of analytic work:  the role of the adolescent neurosis, the enduring influence of the various phases of adolescence, on the adult personality.

Dr. Sander Abend will discuss Dr. Jacobs’ presentation.

Written by science reporters, Pam Belluck and Benedict Carey, the story
describes an important new initiative by the National Institute of
Mental Health (NIMH), the largest source of federal funding for
