In honor of the 100th birthday of Sylvia Brody, Ph.D., the child analytic programs of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education affiliated with the New York University School of Medicine, and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research have organized a confereence to be held October 18, 2014 from 9 am to 3 pm, at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
The preeminent contributions of Dr. Brody’s research have dealt with the exploration of a child’s psychological development, and developmental issues will be the focus of this event. When psychoanalysts treat patients who present with biologically based disorders, they do so mindful of how developmental issues affect biology and how biology affects development.
