Understanding Emotional Communication and Countertransference in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

This workshop will discuss how to identify and understand emotional communications from the patient to the analyst through the analysis of the therapist’s countertransference. It will cover:

· The theoretical underpinnings for the concept of emotional communication and how the analyst’s feelings in the countertransference can be used to understand the patient’s transference repetitions.
