The buzz at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago last week was all about the 101st Annual Meeting which, according to feedback from several attendees, was one of the best June meetings in recent years. By all accounts, the combination of discussion groups, panels and workshops was particularly stimulating, while the more intimate nature of the meeting allowed for significantly more interaction among participants.

Saturday, 16 June 2012, dawned sunny and clear. There you have a sentence that Joyce might have written in the “namby-pamby marmalady jammy drawersy” Nausicaa chapter of Ulysses. Nevertheless, that’s what it was like on Delancey Place, Philadelphia, where the brotherly love overflowed and cascaded down the tall columns of the monumental, long-dead author.
