The New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute invites you to a clinical series:
FROM THE CHAIR TO THE COUCH
2016 – 2017
Interested in learning more about psychoanalysis and how to deepen your clinic practice? Please join us for this year’s five part clinical series. Each evening focuses on a different aspect of analytic work. In the first evening’s presentation on Thursday, November 10th, child candidate Dr. Kirsten Butterfield will discuss her analysis of a child, and Child and Adolescent Supervising Analyst Dr. Mary Sickles will act as a discussant. Understanding child development and child analytic work is valuable when working with individuals of all ages, as the interaction between defensive processes and fantasies in childhood can clarify the underlying difficulties experienced across the lifespan.
As usual, there will be food and drink and a lively discussion of clinical material. Professionals and students with backgrounds in psychology, psychiatry, and social work are welcome to attend.
Please RSVP to Howard Bliwise at hbliwise@gmail.com for the November 10th evening by November 5th.
Below is a complete list of the five evenings in this year’s clinical series:
