IPTAR: The LJGould Center for Systems-Psychoanalytic Studies

The Challenge of Containment: A Psychoanalytic-Systemic perspective.
Wednesday, June 15, 2016, Workshop with Avi Nutkevitch, PhD.
Description: (Three CE Credits)
In his article “container and contained transformed” Bion states that containment “is perhaps the most important mechanism employed by the practicing psychoanalyst”. I believe that the challenge of containment is highly important not only for the psychoanalyst, but in any role, be it manager, consultant, teacher, parent or political and military leaders. Moreover, the notion of containment is relevant not only with regard to an individual in his/her role but for organizational entities such as managements and boards. The workshop will weave together a lecture and discussion with experiential work in small groups around containment.
