Why Joyce Again? with Colette Soler

By 1967 Lacan had elaborated an extensive thesis about Joyce. In the ’70s, he returned to it insistently. What was he looking for? This presentation will explore Lacan’s different readings of Joyce and their impact on his final theories.

Colette Soler practices and teaches psychoanalysis in Paris. Formed as an analyst by Lacan, she is a founding member of L’École de Psychanalyse des Forums du Champ lacanien. Among her many books, those translated into English include What Lacan Said About Women; Lacan: The Unconscious Reinvented and Lacanian Affects.
