OVERCOMING DIFFICULTIES IN WORKING WITH MASOCHISMSaturday, APRIL 5, 2014
Presenter: ASHER KAHN, Ph.D.
In this clinical workshop Dr. Kahn will present material that will elucidate an approach to working with masochism. As therapists we listen, try to be understanding and helpful. We want better lives for our patients: better jobs, better relationships, better health, etc. Our hopes or their absence affect the therapeutic process. Attending to the real life problems of our patients while managing the magnetic pull towards countertransference enactments are the essential components of this approach. Dr. Kahn will share some of his experiences to illustrate his thinking. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, make comments and bring in their own clinical material.ASHER KAHN, PH.D.
