Siblings: What they do With Us, To Us, For Us and Against Us” with Dr. Philip Herschenfeld
What: New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute’s Child and Adolescent Psychoanalysis division announces an upcoming discussion in the second series of “Dialogues on…” events with leading child development experts. Dr. Philip Herschenfeld will discuss issues pertaining to siblings: what they do with us, to us, for us and against us.
“Dialogues on…” discussions are geared towards professionals and parents who are involved with the care of children in the school and home environments.
Educators, school administrators, community leaders, grandparents and parents are welcome to attend.
With the “Dialogues on…” series of discussions, the NYC community has access to child development experts on relevant and pressing topics. The events are free and open to the public and are an integral part of NYPSI’s commitment to community outreach. The series began in 2012-2013 and proved overwhelmingly successful.
The “Dialogues on…” series is made possible by a generous donation to NYSPI from The Poses Family Foundation. Additional funding was received from The James and Judith K. Dimon Foundation in honor of Ms. Themis Dimon.
Who:
Philip Herschenfeld, M.D. is a graduate of Einstein Medical School, and has been teaching Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis for many years. He is affiliated with Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He is a Training and Supervising Analyst at NYPSI where he is an esteemed teacher for both adult and child psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. His has an active private practice in Manhattan from which he has gained significant experience in the issues of sibling dynamics and their impact on individuals and families.
