We hope you can join us at the 2nd Annual Innovations in Psychiatry Symposium, held in Goldwurm Auditorium at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on Friday, February 7, 2014. The program, entitled Advances in Understanding Resilience and Treating Traumatic Stress, will feature presentations from leading experts including Steven M. Southwick, MD, Professor of Psychiatry, Yale University School of Medicine and Yale Child Study Center; Rachel Yehuda, PhD, Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; Bruce S. McEwen, PhD, Professor at The Rockefeller University; Roger K. Pitman, MD, Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School; Yair Bar-Haim, PhD, Professor, School of Psychological Sciences and School of Neurosciences at Tel-Aviv University as well as other distinguished experts from Mount Sinai.

The symposium is part of a broader Departmental and Medical Center initiative to bring to bear basic discoveries in neuroscience, better understand the causes of major psychiatric disorders, and develop innovative treatments. This year’s event is made possible by a generous grant from the Deborah Elkins Foundation, which supports endeavors in medicine and education. The Department of Psychiatry would like to thank the Deborah Elkins Foundation for sponsoring the symposium and Ahron Friedberg, MD, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, for organizing the event.

The Department encourages participants to register beforehand for the Symposium. The fees are as follows:

$50 – Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) Affiliates
No fee – MSHS Residents and Fellows in Training
