Website Task Force

IPALogoHorizontalWebsite Task Force

Dear IPA Members,

The IPA Administration, in agreement with the Board, has created a Task Force to develop a new, wide-reaching Communication Plan. This Communication Plan will encompass both the IPA’s relationship with the external world and the numerous internal relationships within our institutional community. Work is currently underway and the Task Force will report to the Board during their next meeting in January 2014 in Boston.

In the meantime, we are pleased to inform you that the Board has nominated a Website Task Force, Chaired by Romolo Petrini, with a temporary mandate. Their task is to create a website that can better respond to the needs of a wider-reaching, more articulated communication plan. In particular, we want a website that is capable of showing the general public the cultural wealth and complexity of our Association. We are also keen to enable and encourage Members to take a more active part in institutional life, using the tools the Web offers.

The Task Force, active since late August, has already managed to rearrange and upgrade parts of the Website. Much work is still to be done, but we do hope you appreciate the improvements so far.

We invite you to take a look: www.ipa.org.uk

The website is there to meet the needs of all of us, as far as possible. Therefore, we welcome all suggestions on what to publish on the website. Please send your suggestions to Romolo Petrini (romolopetrini@me.com). Suggestions will then be taken under consideration for publication.

Finally, we’d like to introduce the members of the Website Task Force:

Romolo Petrini, Chair

Anna Louisa Christopoulos

Sérgio Lewkowicz

Luis Alejandro Nagy Urbina

Maria Grazia Vassallo Torrigiani

Silvia Wajnbuch

Stefano Bolognini

Alexandra Billinghurst

Juan Carlos Weissmann

Paul Crake

The Task Force is still being completed and we will let you know the additional members as soon as they have been officially nominated by the Board, in accordance with the formal procedure. More info about the mandate can be found here.

We are confident that the public area of the website can increase its function as an interface between the IPA and the outside world, while the private area can greatly benefit and improve communications between the IPA members, societies, committees and Administration, making us part of an ever more aware and collaborative scientific and professional community.

Best regards,

Stefano Bolognini, IPA President

Alexandra Billinghurst, IPA Vice President

Juan Carlos Weissmann, IPA Treasurer
