Workshop leader: Susan Kavaler-Adler, PhD, ABPP, NPsyA, D.Litt

Fee: Practitioners – $75 (pre-registration)/$85 (at the door); Students/ Retired – $40/ $50
Main topics of this didactic and experiential workshop are related to resolving self-sabotage by facing regrets consciously; by facing persecutory aspects of linear time and grappling with one’s own mortality, and through reverie in life and clinical work.
In the experiential part of this workshop, Dr. Kavaler-Adler will employ a guided psychic visualization approach to promote internal world dialogues that address these challenges related to persecutory time, fears of mortality, and self-sabotage. She will help each workshop participant to discover the emerging improvisation of the “rest of their lives.” She will help them both dialogue with their time-oriented goals, and to relinquish control over their mental agendas, so that the improvisations of the latter parts of their lives can play themselves out in the organic flow of time.
A group process generally emerges through sharing these internal dialogues. This psychic visualization process is employed by Dr. Kavaler-Adler in her monthly intensive psychotherapy and mourning group for the past 18 years.
