Dr. Wright will explore the interwoven nature of social, emotional and cognitive development and discuss ways to enhance the well-being and success of the whole child who has learning, attentional or executive function difficulties.Q&A to follow.”Dialogues on…” events are geared towards professionals and parents who are involved with the care of children in the school and home environments. Educators, school administrators, community leaders, grandparents and parents are welcome.Dr. Josephine Wright is a Child and Adult Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst on the teaching faculties of New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute and Berkshire Psychoanalytic Institute. She has practiced for over thirty years in both Manhattan and Connecticut with adults, children and families suffering from a variety of issues and has developed particular interests in adoption and in the complex interactions of emotional, psychological and social development in young people with learning and executive function problems such as ADHD. She has consulted widely to schools, including boarding schools in New England and has published articles on these issues in several professional journals. She is the author of the influential Do We Really Need Ritalin: A Family Guide to ADHD (HarperCollins, 1997).The “Dialogues on…” series is made possible by a generous donation to NYPSI from The Poses Family Foundation.
