Therapy forever, Autism in France and loss of conversations from Sasha Rolde on IP.net

Dear Colleagues,

as we witness more turmoil in the world both political and financial, our website seems to reflect the same ripples in our professional lives. The controversy started long ago but highlighted this week by Alpert’s article in the NYT stirred up a flurry of comments and letters which I hope you will read and comment on the website. As usual I will list a few key post of my choice, followed by the full list of contents.

My picks for the week:

1) Curiously(?), the Dangerous Method continues to hold interest in the greater world, in contrast to Jonathan Alpert’s comments in the NYT.

Click Here for Dangerous Method Posts

2) It takes a physicist to bring back to the public the notion of the unconscious in his new book “Subliminal: How the unconscious mind rules your behavior” Please read carefully.

3) As mentioned above, please read Jonathan Alpert’s article in NYT re “therapy forever, and the responses published there as well as comments by others on this website.

4) There are numerous very interesting posts in the GENERAL NEWS Category. I recommend especially the Clinical Psychology Panel at the New School, the Neurological Roots of Lingering Regret, Autism and psychoanalysis in France, improving one’s intelligence, but please read the others.

5) Please read about the advances in neuroscience research – e. g. discovering of key protein responsible for controlling nerve cell protection.

6) Finally Daniel Smith’s “The Maniac in Me” is an instructive well written post on the evolution of anxiety from childhood.
