The Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research invites you to a memorial for Dr. Norbert Freedman.
Since Bert’s unexpected death on November 30th, 2011, a voice for psychoanalysis has been silenced. Bert was a central pillar of IPTAR and in the international psychoanalytic community for decades. He founded and led many of IPTAR’s programs and projects and was a beloved training analyst, supervisor, teacher, and friend at IPTAR as well as the NYU Postdoctoral Program. His theories on symbolization and desymbolization, and his psychoanalytic research, were internationally recognized. He was an endless source of energy and inspiration to all of us, and loved by many. His presence is greatly missed.
This memorial event will be a forum for all of us to gather together to remember Bert. Please join us to share your memories and thoughts about him. Everyone who wishes to will have an opportunity to speak. There will be music and light refreshments. We hope you will join us.
