“The Nature of German Anti-Semitism During the Third Reich”
In this talk, Dr. Kohut will examine the anti-Semitism of 62 Germans interviewed for an oral history project, as manifested in their memories of their lives during the Third Reich. He will also consider German anti-Semitism more generally and its implications for understanding the relationship between the perpetrators of and the bystanders to the Holocaust.
(This talk will be based on Dr. Kohut’s forthcoming book, A German Generation: An Experiential History of the Twentieth Century, Yale University Press, 2012)
