9/11 Benefit Program for Mental Health Services for NYC Residents

For those of us treating people who were affected by the events of 9/11:
I have just learned that anyone who lives in NYC can call the number below for a brief screening interview to see if they meet the criteria to be approved for $3000 for psychotherapy sessions and medications. If approved, they fill out a form and give one to their therapists to fill out. People who lived in the immediate area of the Towers on 9/11, or who worked/volunteered there, may be approved for unlimited psychotherapy funds.

The NYC 9/11 Benefit Program for Mental Health and Substance Use
MHA-NYC administers the NYC 9/11 Benefit Program for Mental Health & Substance Use Services, funded by the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. The NYC 9/11 Benefit Program for Mental Health and Substance Use Services provides NYC residents in all five boroughs with financial assistance for outpatient mental health and substance use services.
The program works by reimbursing individuals, or their providers, for the costs of mental health treatment and medications. It’s easy to apply, there are no income or citizenship requirements. Reimbursement is retroactive to January 2, 2007. To learn more about the NYC 9/11 Benefit Program call 1-877-SEP11MH (1-877-737-1164)
