Fear of Speaking: The Virulence of Aphasia with Paula Hochman Vappereau
Friday, December 9, 2016, 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm, The School of Visual Arts, 136 West 21st Street, New York, NY
When subjects speak they address themselves to an other who listens, while also evoking the big Other. The spread of virtual contact, which eludes a real other, is a breeding ground for aphasia. This presentation will address the act of speaking and the virulence of aphasia today.
