In 1905 Freud stated that perversion is the primordial and universal tendency of the sexual drive, presenting in the process a subversive ethical position. His stance opens up the question of how to distinguish what is intrinsic to human sexuality from what is specific to the structure of perversion. This distinction and its implications for the psychoanalytic clinic will be the themes of our discussion.
Guillermina Díaz is a psychoanalyst practicing in Buenos Aires and Rosario, a faculty member of the Escuela Psicoanalítica Sigmund Freud, Rosario.
Diana Voronovsky is a psychoanalyst practicing in Buenos Aires, co-founder and member of Mayéutica Institución Psicoanálitica, and an editorial board member of its magazine Redtórica, BA.
Paola Mieli is a psychoanalyst practicing in New York City, president of Après-Coup Psychoanalytic Association.
Alejandra Ruíz is a psychoanalyst practicing in Buenos Aires, member of the Escuela Freudiana de Buenos Aires, of the Fondation Européenne pour la Psychanalyse and of the editorial board of the psychoanalytic journal LaPsus Calami, BA.
Daniel Zimmerman is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst practicing in Buenos Aires, member at the Escuela Freudiana de Buenos Aires and a professor in the Psychology Department of the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino.
