Dear, dear friends and family of Edith Kurzweil,
It is with the greatest of sadness that we write with sorrowful news. Our mother passed away peacefully today, Saturday February 6, 2016, four days after a stroke. To the very end, she was in great shape and high spirits, and, as ever, intellectually nimble. (She had workout sessions and opera plans scheduled for the following week.)
Please join us if you can for the funeral service. The brief ceremony will be held this Tuesday, February 9, at 11:15am, at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th Street (on Amsterdam Ave. at the corner of 76th Street).
Guests arriving by subway should take the 1, 2 or 3 train to the 72nd Street Station. For those driving into the city: a doorman will be on hand to park vehicles for the duration of the service. Please arrive early, park in front of the funeral home, on Amsterdam Ave, and wait in your car. That said, if there is a long line of cars guests might be better served making other parking arrangements.
We will also be receiving friends and family at Edith’s apartment (1 Lincoln Plaza, Apt. 16-D), between 6pm and 9pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Feb. 9, 10, 11).
Fondly,
Allen, Vivien, and Ronald
