Jeffrey Lieberman’s popular new book, Shrinks: The Untold Story of Psychiatry caused a stir in the psychoanalytic community.
Dr. Lieberman will present and Drs. Drescher and Gerber will respond in what promises to be a lively, stimulating discussion of the future of psychoanalytic treatments of mental disorders, the role of non-psychiatrists in mental health treatment, the efficacy of manualized short-term therapies, the differences between historical Freudian analysis and contemporary psychoanalytic thought and the significance of research for psychoanalysis!!
