Clinical examples will be offered to illustrate the concepts being presented.

Dr. Ronald Rawitt is a member of NYPSI and on the faculty of Mt. Sinai Hospital.
The Extension Program welcomes mental health professionals, trainees in fields of psychiatry, psychology, and social work, and any members of the community who are interested in psychoanalytic principles.

Explain which principles organize development, including progression and fixation, the formation of unconscious fantasies, unconscious conflict, and the influence of parenting and parent psychology in order to recognize clinically significant developmental issues in childhood: separation anxiety, sadomasochism, family romance fantasies, the evolution of narcissism, and object removal.
