IPA Bulletin March 2014
Ethics Code
Consultation on proposed changes to the Procedural Code
The IPA has started a review of its Ethics Code. This work is fundamental to our profession and, of course, it will also affect the codes adopted by each constituent organisation, since under the IPA’s Rules, the Ethics Code of every constituent organisation must be in conformity with the IPA’s Ethics Code.
IPA members are invited to review and leave comments on the proposed changes via the IPA’s website here. (You will need to sign into your account to do so.)
Your views are extremely important, to enable us to ensure that our Ethics Code is fit for purpose and that it will provide our profession – psychoanalysts, Candidates, and our clients – with the protection that is required.

If the IPA is to function efficiently and economically it is vital that we stay in touch with our Members and Candidates and others who are close to us. We use e-mail to enable you to participate in – where appropriate – IPA elections, Congresses and other scientific meetings, or to announce the Business Meeting which determines our corporate governance. Nevertheless, to comply with legislation in some jurisdictions we have to offer you the opportunity to opt out of receiving all e-mail messages from the IPA (which means you may well not be able to participate in elections, etc). You can unsubscribe from all messages by clicking here.
