We are writing to tell you about a series of upcoming events at the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. We have been working together to organize events designed to expose interested students to psychoanalytic training. We want to invite you to our ongoing series of clinical case presentations intended to highlight the use of psychoanalytic thinking in all aspects of our work.

As they have in the past, these evenings will be held in members’ homes. We began the case series on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, with a presentation of a patient in psychodynamic psychotherapy. The second presentation will be held on January 29, 2014 and will be of a case in transition from psychotherapy to psychoanalysis. Lastly, an analytic case will be presented on April 2, 2014. We hope that these conferences will introduce students to psychoanalytic thinking as well as show how psychoanalysis is an exciting and lively part of current clinical practice.

This year, we would like to extend the opportunity to interested students to meet with candidates and faculty in informal and more personal settings. We will be arranging for small mentorship groups to meet in an ongoing manner to discuss issues related to the study and practice of psychoanalysis.

If you have any colleagues who might be interested in the program, please let us know, or, pass the invitation on to them and have them contact us.
