Women leaders, top/bottom brain, TTT, solo/clinic dilemma from Sasha Rolde on IP.net

Dear Colleagues,

With NSA spying revelations, students killing their teachers in our schools, world wide abuse of women and child trafficking, where does a person turn when seeking to grow and learn of better more encouraging and even pleasant news? Please try to read the posts on our international psychoanalytic website. I can’t promise “all good” but hopefully at least more interesting and thought provoking. My own choices are listed below, followed by the entire list of contents.

1) Women’s attitudes toward their bodies are very cogently spelled out by Chiara Bottici in “What’s Left After Penis Envy” in the ART category.

6) Finally it is official – In business, there*s abundant evidence that inclusion of women in senior positions is linked to better results – and some are asking for inclusion of women on boards, in politics and in business. Please read “Twitter, Women and Power.”

7) An excellent article on why the brain needs more downtime is a must in today’s world, especially for psychoanalysts who may tend to think “resistance” when a patient’s mind goes “blank”. ( In the General News)

8) I recommend a number of excellent posts on the prison populations, prisoner’s treatment and their mental health.

8) Personally, despite the increasing discussion of psychiatrists and mental health professionals in general leaving private practice and joining clinics, I hope that I never have to do this, as for ethical reasons I could not just prescribe medication and be forced to not use my training and therapeutic, never mind psychoanalytic expertise. Please read the post in General News.

9) And there is still more on epigenetic transmission of (Holocaust and other) trauma.
