Background on the selection of Congress Sessions
If you have ever wondered why a particular Congress proposal was not selected, Gunther Perdigao, the Chair of the Prague Congress Group, explains. “As is usual at recent IPA Congresses, the Programme Committee received over 500 proposals, but there is only room in the programme for about 20% of this number. This percentage is again typical of the amount that a Programme committee usually accept. I understand that for an individual who has made just one proposal that was not accepted this can feel disappointing, but we expect the Call for Proposals for the Boston Congress to open in late 2013 or early 2014, so there is always another opportunity to try your ideas on a new Programme Committee.”

Confidentiality at the Congress
Protecting patient confidentiality is vitally important . In accordance with the terms and conditions of Congress registration, certain sessions are marked ’confidential’. To ensure that only IPA Members and IPA Candidates attend confidential sessions, you will be asked to show your badge before entering the room. Please note if you are not wearing your badge you will be refused entry, even if you are an IPA Member (and door staff must refuse entry even if others vouch for you. Confidentiality is too important to take risks with) .
