RSVP at www.nypsi.org under Events & Lectures
Everyone’s life is multidetermined, with influences from many sources, including cultural forces and the arts. As the daughter of Gene Kelly, Kerry Kelly Novick grew up with unique access to his creative process. In this evening of film clips and personal stories, she will engage the audience in a dialogue about the interactions of art and life and the links to psychoanalytic ideas about feelings and fantasy illustrated in some of the classic films.
A book signing will follow.
Kerry Kelly Novick is a child, adolescent and adult psychoanalyst. She did her child training with Anna Freud in London in the 1960’s and her adult training at the Contemporary Freudian Society. She is a child and adult Training and Supervising Analyst of the IPA and on the faculties of numerous psychoanalytic institutes around the country. A founder of Allen Creek Preschool, she is past President of the Association for Child Psychoanalysis and a Councilor-at-Large for the American Psychoanalytic Association.
