Friday, December 7, 2012 at 8:00 PM: WHY DOESN’T IT ALWAYS LAST IN LOVE? AND HOW DO WE RETRIEVE IT? Samara Kaufmann Kolstein, MA
___________________________________________________________
How is it that two people meet, fall in love, have the time of their lives, and often end up full of rage, resentment and a lack of attraction to that same partner? Why is it that sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead? What factors contribute to the disintegration of relationships from “glory days” to heartbreak, devastation and even divorce? How can we prevent this or repair damage already done?
Presenter: Samara Kaufmann Kolstein, MA, currently has a private practice in New York City, where she works with patients struggling with relationship issues, attachment disorders, anxiety, and depression. Ms. Kaufmann Kolstein is also a Candidate-In-Training at the American Institute for Psychoanalysis of The Karen Horney Psychoanalytic Center. She graduated with honors from Colgate University with a major in psychology. She received a Master’s degree in psychology with honors from New York University where she worked as a research assistant in the Transference Laboratory. She has been a contributing writer to the American Journal of Psychoanalysis.
