I just heard a very moving interview on NPR about him and his books – he is considered to be a Chinese writer who combines in his novels a description of his native culture with the universal human experience.

3) “Last month, climate scientists announced that Arctic sea ice had shrunk to its smallest surface area since satellite observations began in 1979. An ice-free summer in the Arctic, once projected to be more than a century away, now looks possible just a few decades from now. 7) though the following posts 1) maternal depression and its effect on baby’s development and 2) do animals get depressed may seem naive and self evident to psychoanalysts, they may IMO have implications in neuroscience, but also be dependent on cultural mores – in current culture the mother is the primary caretaker of a baby, but not in every culture, and in the animal kingdom, it may depend on circumstances and animal – the photo on the web is of a monkey behind bars – hardly a natural state.
