Sabina Spielrein played a crucial role—as patient, lover, student, confidante—in the early history of psychoanalysis. The evening will be devoted to complementary visions of her involvements with C. G. Jung and Sigmund Freud as represented in film and history. Film clips will accompany the talk.
John Kerr is the author of A Most Dangerous Method: The Story of Jung, Freud, and Sabina Spielrein, the basis for the new film by David Cronenberg. Formerly Senior Editor at The Analytic Press, Kerr is currently writing a play about American psychiatrist Harry Stack Sullivan.
