Psychological conflicts involving issues of social class and class shame are silent
contributors to inhibitions in work and family/personal relations. Raising awareness of
one’s own blind spots with regard to class increases one’s ability to be sensitized to class-
related concerns and troubles in the lives of clients and in society as a whole.
