Panelists:
“Reality Distorts: Some Thoughts on Fantasy, Reality and the Transference”
Lawrence Levenson, M.D. is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Western New England Institute for Psychoanalysis. An esteemed teacher and clinician, Dr. Levenson chairs a study group at the Western New England on psychoanalytic process and technique. Among his publications, he has written on the contributions of Paul Gray’s work and defense analysis. He has also served as an associate member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis (IJP) and in 2007 was the Visiting Scholar at the Paul Gray Visiting Scholar Weekend at the Baltimore-Washington Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Levenson practices psychoanalysis and psychiatry in New Haven.

“Transference and Countertransference: A Neo-Kleinian Perspective”
 Kay M. Long, Ph.D. is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine, and a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Western New England Institute for Psychoanalysis.  Dr. Long has written on aspects of female development as well as the work of Melanie Klein. She has served as an associate editor for the IJP. A highly respected clinician and much sought after mentor, her current teaching and research interests involve neo-Kleinian approaches to clinical theory and technique. She is in the private practice of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy in New Haven.

“Interpreting the Transference and Interpreting IN the Transference: Understanding and Using André Green”
 Gail S. Reed, Ph.D. is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Berkshire Psychoanalytic Institute and at the Training Institute of the New York Freudian Society. A reknowned author and speaker, she has authored numerous important studies on a wide variety of clinical and applied psychoanalytic subjects including a book on the transference neurosis, articles on technical issues such as reconstruction and the effect of relativism on clinical truth. In 1985 she won the JAPA Prize for a paper comparing the rules of understanding in self psychology and classical analysis. Dr. Reed also serves on the editorial boards of The Psychoanalytic Quarterly and JAPA where she is the Associate Editor for Foreign Books and is a member of the Publication Committee of the International Psycho-analytical Association. She practices psychoanalysis and psychotherapy in English and in French in New York City.

This program qualifies for 4 CEU’s for Psychologists and Socical Workers and 4 CME’s for physicians. Application pending.
