Freud Museum London News and Events

Museum News and Events – Birthday Edition 6 May 2011

Today we wish Freud a very happy 155th birthday and are delighted to be announcing a special anniversary of our own. This summer marks 25 years since the Museum first opened to the public. Although most people think of this as Sigmund Freud’s home, his youngest daughter Anna lived here for over 40 years and it was her express wish that the house would become a Museum in her fathers honour. Today the Museum engages with their legacies in contempory thinking, art and culture, whilst still caring for the house and collections.

As part of the celebrations we will be launching a fundraising campaign to support our exciting plans to develop the Museum. We’ve also created a very special 25th anniversary programme, which includes an open day on Thursday 28 July. More to be announced shortly.
