A contemporary focus on the functioning of the mind, from the perspective of Modern Conflict Theory, will be discussed. There will be an emphasis on Brenner’s revisions of traditional structural theory along with a new appreciation of the ideas of evolutionary biology for understanding the functioning of the mind.
Dr. Buckingham is the new Director of the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at NYPSI. He is on the faculty of NYPSI and the NYU Medical Center.
