The New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute (NYPSI) wants to let mental health professionals know that we offer low fee adult, child, and adolescent psychoanalysis with licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, or social workers. Our analysts see patients in their private offices and are supervised by senior NYPSI training analysts. Our analysts routinely charge from $200 to $300 a session for psychotherapy, but offer psychoanalysis four to five times a week for fees adjusted to income. Our sliding scale is as low as $5 a session.
NYPSI was the first psychoanalytic institute in the country. We’ve offered high quality low fee treatment to NYC adults, children, and adolescents since 1946. Our analysts are willing to charge such low fees because they want to continue their education with this type of therapy.
Psychoanalysis is not for everybody. It is for basically sturdy people who struggle with getting all the pleasure they can out of their work, school, and/or relationships. Understanding the underlying problems that keep you from enjoying your life and getting what you want will help you make changes that will decrease difficult feelings, such as anxiety and/or depression.
