Developmental Dialogues

The Pacella Parent Child Center offers parents with young children an opportunity to discuss the inevitable developmental stresses that arise during child rearing. Parents meet with developmental specialists who have long experience working with young children and their families.

Address:
o     Stresses of each developmental step
o     Feeding issues
o     Sleep issues
o     Tantrums
o     Fears
o     Separation issues
o     Socialization
o     Responses to the birth of a sibling
o     Setting limits
o     Development and learning style

Goals:
o     Explore your concerns with our developmental specialist
o     Discuss ways to deal with your concerns
o     Get feedback concerning your child’s needs and functioning
o     Decide how to proceed after the meetings

Procedure:
o     Children younger than three: 4-6 meetings in which the parent(s) and child meet together in our large play room.  One professional meets with the parent(s) while another professional engages with the child.
o     Children four years and over: 4-6 meetings with the parent(s), an opportunity to meet with the child individually is available if needed.
Initial Consultation $200 (this will be applied to the fee of a full Developmental Dialogue of 4 to 6 meetings): $700 for four meetings; $1,050 for six meetings
