World Premier of Arthur Giron’s Voltaire’s Emily

The true story of Voltaire’s enduring passion for Emilie du Chatelet, the great translator of Sir Isaac Newton. By night she was a gifted actress, but suffered being a woman, at a time when in France women were not allowed to drink coffee or use their minds. The play explores the question ‘What is the secret of a maintaining a long-lasting love? The play, commissioned by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, was awarded The Galileo Prize – given to plays with science content.
