Thursday, March 13, 2008, 7:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Supper at 90 Riverside Drive #4B
(At the corner of 81st. St. and Riverside Drive)
Join us for supper at our Open House and bring your interest and questions about our psychoanalytic training programs in Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychoanalysis. You will hear presentations from our faculty, candidates and recent graduates.
Psychoanalysis offers the most comprehensive theory of human mental functioning. It addresses issues which are of abiding therapeutic and scientific interest such as: the nature of unconscious and conscious mental activity, the place of affects in mental life, the role of parent child interactions in the emotional development of the person, and the powerful complex nature of the therapeutic situation.
We at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute are proud of our tradition of academic and clinical excellence. As a candidate at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, you will learn about psychoanalysis from its earliest beginnings to its most contemporary re-formulations. You will learn how the psychoanalytic approach to mental functioning and to psychological treatment will enrich your understanding of all your patients. Our graduates join a collegial community whose members share a passion for the clinical and intellectual challenges of psychoanalysis and for its broader application to psychological therapies.
This open house is for psychiatrists, PGY III and PGY IV psychiatry residents, psychologists, psychology graduate students, and social workers who are pursuing a doctoral degree.
If you are interested in attending our Open House, please r.s.v.p. to Ms. Helen Zimmer by phone at 212.879-6900 or by email at info@nypsa.org by March 1st.
